Jake Forster-Caskey made his England under-21 debut in unusual circumstances last night.

The Albion midfielder got on after 85 minutes of the 3-1 win over Wales at Swansea in a European Championship qualifier.

Forster-Caskey, pictured, and his Seagulls colleague Solly March looked to have missed out as they watched from the bench.

But injury to their fellow sub Harry Kane just six minutes after he went on gave Forster-Caskey his chance.

The Albion pair now head off with Gareth Southgate’s squad to the Toulon tournament where they are sure to enjoy playing time.

Nathan Redmond scored all three England goals with former Albion loanee Jesse Lingard going close.

Gwion Edwards, the Swansea winger who had a stint on loan at Crawley recently, scored the goal which brought Wales level in the first half. Reds defender Joe Walsh also played for the hosts.
