Sussex have moved to halt their dip in form in the County Championship by signing England spinner James Tredwell.
Tredwell has joined on a month’s loan from Kent with the option of extending it if both clubs agree.
The 32-year-old will play in four-day cricket only with Kent retaining the right to recall him at any point.
Tredwell has played 52 limited overs internationals for England as well as a solitary Test against Bangladesh in 2010 but has lost his place in Kent’s Championship team this season.
He is set to make his debut in the division one clash with Yorkshire at Arundel Castle which begins tomorrow.
Tredwell said: “It’s a great opportunity for me to join up with a club like Sussex who I have admired for a long time throughout my career.
“I’m really looking forward to getting some red ball cricket under my belt.”
