Albion have extended their relationship with American Express by agreeing a multi-year naming rights deal for their new training ground and academy with the financial services company.

The hi-tech complex in Lancing will be known as the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.

Amex have naming rights to the main building, indoor facility and training pitches at the Seagulls' £30 million centre in Mash Barn Lane.

The company already sponsor Albion's stadium and shirts. They are also a key partner in Albion In The Community, the club's charitable arm.

Albion chief exceutive Paul Barber said: "The club enjoys a hugely successful relationship with American Express and we are delighted that its support has now been extended to include one of the finest football training ground and academy facilities anywhere in the world.

"From a commercial point of view, the revenue we have secured from this new agreement will contribute to our ongoing financial fair play targets."

Nigel Greenwood, vice president of American Express, said: "This is a natural extension of our successful partnerships.

"The training facility and academy partnership reinforces our broader commitment to nurturing local talent.

"As the city’s largest private-sector employer, this collaboration further demonstrates our commitment to the success of the communities where we live and work, not only in the short term but for generations to come."
