Crawley Town have sold Andy Drury to Luton Town for a six-figure fee.

The midfielder has moved to the League Two new boys on a two-year contract in a £100,000 deal.

Luton have been chasing Drury for much of the summer.

The former Lewes player initially joined Crawley on loan from Ipswich in September 2011 and returned to the club on a permanent basis last summer.

Drury was with Luton before joining Ipswich for £150,000 in January 2011.

Crawley chief executive Michael Dunford said: “When Andy joined us a year ago on a two-year contract he insisted on a clause in his contract whereby any club prepared to meet our valuation of him they would have permission to talk to him.

“Luton have met that valuation and Andy has decided to go back there.

“What I will stress is that the money received will all go back into strengthening the squad. John Gregory and the board are working hard on bringing in further new faces to add to the nine we have already signed this summer.

“In the meantime, we wish Andy all the best and thank him for his services to the club.”
