Albion's new shirts revealed

The Argus: Albion's new kits for 2014-15. Picture by Paul Hazlewood Albion's new kits for 2014-15. Picture by Paul Hazlewood

Albion have returned to their lucky away kit with new sponsors Nike.

Sami Hyypia's Seagulls will wear red and black stripes on their travels in the Championship this season.

The colours were worn by Albion in their title triumphs of 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2010-11.

The away shirt is for one season, but the traditional blue and white striped home shirt will be worn at the Amex for the next two seasons with blue shirts and blue and white socks.

Albion's new orange and black third kit will be used in the event of clashes.

Shirts can be pre-ordered online with the club. They will be available to buy from midday at the Amex on July 24, when the superstore reopens after refurbishment.

Pleased with the traditional look to the front of the home kit and return to red and black stripes for the away kit (that'll please Lewes and Southwick folk), does anybody else think we'll look like Chelsea from behind though?

As for the fluorescent orange kit, perhaps this will be our secret weapon at evening games away where the pitchside stewards have orange hi-vis jackets!

Palace away would be the obvious choice for the 3rd kit, but I think it will get used where red and white stripes are prominent in the opponents home colours?

Don't like the rounded neck on the home shirt also somehow they've made it look like Sheffield Wednesday. Why on earth we have to look like Bournemouth with the away shirt is beyond me, yes they''re signing the players we should be but even still. The orange one just makes us look like a load of railtrack workers it's not a classy orange like Holland. Thought this would be an improvement on last season, disappointing. Don't think I'll be buying any of them.

Sponsor's designs should always be carefully vetted by a club.
It is not just how it looks close up. Equally important is how it looks from high up on the Kop, or on TV from a panoramic view.
Anyway, off on a tangent ....... how about a return to the days of full-cut broadcloth shirt material with tailored collars?
Would help referees spot and punish the excessive shirt pulling that goes on these days.
