David set for Spanish move

The Argus: David Rodriguez is expected to end up back in Spanish football David Rodriguez is expected to end up back in Spanish football

Former Albion striker David Rodriguez could be about to turn down a winter in the Canary Islands.

Rodriguez, who scored one goal during a half-season stint with the Seagulls, has been offered a contract by Tenerife.

But sources in the Canaries expect him to sign instead for their second-tier rivals Valladolid, who were relegated last season.

Rodriguez parted company with Celta midway through last season and was snapped up by the Seagulls as a free agent at the end of January.

But he failed to make an impact in England before running out of contract.

Now he is keen to return to Spanish football, where he has a decent record in the second division.

Yes, good luck Rodney. You were never really the man for us. I'm sure you will be better off on home soil.

I know it's not the Argus' fault if there's nothing to report but as non-stories go, this takes some beating........someo
ne who was on loan here for half a season and played a handful of games has not signed for someone else............I keep waiting for the promised signings as everyone else seemingly gets on with it. Are we waiting for the Ulloa situation to resolve itself before we make any moves? Or are we waiting for players and agents to start getting desperate in the hope of picking players up on the cheap, in which case how committed will they be ( Spanish Dave last year ), or are we about to announce a raft of top class signings which will shut the likes of me up.
