Former Albion striker David Rodriguez could be about to turn down a winter in the Canary Islands.
Rodriguez, who scored one goal during a half-season stint with the Seagulls, has been offered a contract by Tenerife.
But sources in the Canaries expect him to sign instead for their second-tier rivals Valladolid, who were relegated last season.
Rodriguez parted company with Celta midway through last season and was snapped up by the Seagulls as a free agent at the end of January.
But he failed to make an impact in England before running out of contract.
Now he is keen to return to Spanish football, where he has a decent record in the second division.
