Chris Jordan has underlined his determination to win his place back in the England Test side.

Jordan played in both matches against Sri Lanka last month but was replaced by Ben Stokes for the first Test against India at Trent Bridge.

The 25-year-old will instead play for Sussex for the first time since May in their must-win NatWest T20 Blast clash with Kent at Hove tonight.

Jordan said: “I was obviously disappointed to be left out but if I wasn’t then I shouldn’t be playing professional sport.

“It was probably a tight call but Ben got the nod and I wish him all the best. Sometimes you have just got to take these things on the chin and come back stronger from them.

“I still believe I am in a good place mentally, physically and technically so I know I don’t need to change anything. I’ve just got to keep doing what I’ve been doing to get to where I am and wait for another chance to come along.”
