Albion are being strongly linked with a move for Barnsley striker Chris O'Grady as doubts about Leo Ulloa's future with the Seagulls grow.
The Seagulls have reportedly agreed a fee with the Yorkshire club and he is said to be set for talks after returning with Barnsley today from a pre-season trip to Italy.
It coincides with Ulloa's absence again from Albion's 3-1 friendly defeat by Real Betis in Spain tonight.
Leicester have already had four bids rejected for the Argentinian target man.
The Argus revealed yesterday their plans for a fifth offer of around £7 million for Ulloa, which is expected to pave the way for his departure.
O'Grady, 28, scored 15 goals in 43 appearances last season as Barnsley were relegated from the Championship.
Barnsley are the 11th club served by the Nottingham-born front man, who ironically began his career as a trainee at Leicester.
