Sussex have re-signed England spinner James Tredwell on a month’s loan from Kent Tredwell played three Championship games last month and returns in time for Monday’s clash with Warwickshire at Horsham.
Coach Mark Robinson has opted to bring back the experienced Tredwell as Sussex attempt to pull clear of the relegation zone rather than turn to leg-spinner Will Beer.
Tredwell will only play four-day cricket as he remains in the Kent team for Twenty20 and the Royal One Day Cup.
Robinson said: “We’ve got the nod from Kent to bring James back which is really good.
“It is a bit of a strange one as we only play one Championship game during the month but he will give us a bit of stability.
“He catches brilliantly at slip and got some vital runs for us in the three games he played while his bowling gives us control.”
