Leo Ulloa has completed his £8 million move from Albion to Premier League new boys Leicester City.

The Argentinian target man passed his medical yesterday and has signed a four-year contract with the Foxes.

The deal will be officially confirmed by both clubs today.

Leicester have their opening pre-season friendly at Ilkeston Town this evening before flying to Thailand tomorrow.

Ulloa’s debut for Nigel Pearson’s side is likely to be in Bangkok on Sunday against Everton.

Leicester launch their return to the top-flight against the same opponents on August 16, a week after Albion start their Championship campaign against Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex.

Meanwhile, Albion want Jeffrey Monakana to boost his chances of breaking into the first team at the Amex during a loan spell at Aberdeen.

The winger has joined the Scottish Premier League club until January 5.

Albion bought Monakana from Preston North End at the start of the year for an undisclosed fee on a development contract until June 2015.

He made more than 40 appearances in League One for Preston and on loan to Colchester but the 20-year-old former Arsenal prospect did not manage a first team breakthrough last season under Oscar Garcia and was loaned out to tomorrow night’s friendly hosts Crawley.

They wanted him back but Monakana has been sent north of the border now that Sami Hyypia is in charge, with a view to fast-tracking his development.

Albion’s head of football David Burke said: “This is a great opportunity for Jeffrey to go to a successful, well-run club, and to play for one of the top teams in the SPL.

“He came back to us for pre-season training looking sharp and it was no surprise to us that several clubs were interested in taking him on loan.

“His best chance to break into our first-team squad is to go on loan, play as many games as he can and enjoy his time with Aberdeen, and I’m sure he can come back to us with more experience and as a better player.

“We are confident that Derek McInnes and his staff can get the best out of him.”

Monakana is ineligible for Thursday’s Europa League qualifying second leg against FC Groningen in Holland after the teams drew 0-0 in the first leg at Pittodrie but Dons’ chief McInnes believes his fifth summer signing can make an impact.

McInnes said: “Jeffrey is a player we have been aware of for some time. He will offer additional competition in the wide areas, where he brings real pace.”
