Teenage winger Bobson Bawling is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Crawley Town.

The former Watford youngster wants to be a hit at the Checkatrade.com Stadium after becoming the club’s 15th summer signing.

Bawling has penned a one-year contract with the Reds after impressing on trial.

The 18-year-old was quiet in an unfamiliar role at right-back in the opening pre-season friendly against Billingshurst but has done well in his natural position as a winger in subsequent appearances against Oakwood – when he scored – Fulham and Albion.

A promising athlete at a young age, Bawling instead chose football and appeared to be doing well at Watford, twice a contender for their Academy Goal of the Season award.

He spent time on loan with Wealdstone last season before being released by the Hornets at the end of the campaign.

Bawling said: “I’m thrilled to be a Crawley Town player. This is a big chance for me and one I am going to take.

“I feel I have a lot to offer the gaffer and my team-mates. I’m desperate to repay the faith both he and the club have shown in me and to also show the Crawley fans what I can offer.”

He is the fourth trialist to be signed by the club after Lewis Young, Dean Leacock and Emmett O’Connor.
