Crawley boss declared himself “fairly happy” after his side’s 3-3 draw away to Conference premier new boys Eastleigh.
Gavin Tomlin (two) and Lewis Young fired the Reds into a 3-1 half-time lead but they were pegged back in the second half when Gregory used all six substitutes.
The Reds boss said: “I was fairly happy certainly with the first hour where I kind of had my first choice players on the pitch. Most of those will be starting at Barnsley in a couple of weeks and we were winning 3-1.
“I was relatively happy at that stage. Once I started to make a lot of changes you get a little bit disorganised, putting on trialists, putting on players that are playing out of position but it is important I try to use everybody in these pre-season games and look after one or two who are carrying knocks.
“It served its purpose in more ways than one.”
