Albion have ended their search for a new No. 1 by landing David Stockdale from Championship rivals Fulham.

Stockdale, Fulham's first choice in the Premier League for much of last season, has signed a three-year deal for a fee believed to be around £1 million.

The Seagulls have been hunting for a new goalkeeper since Tomasz Kuszczak was released in May.

Their list of targets included Jack Butland, Keiren Westwood and Stephen Henderson.

Leeds-born Stockdale, 28, made 39 top flight appearances for Fulham, 21 of them last season, following a move from Darlington in 2008.

The 6ft 3ins Yorkshireman was often preferred to Dutchman Maarten Stekelenburg in the pecking order at Craven Cottage last season.

Albion face Felix Magath's Fulham at the Amex on November 29.
