Stuart Gray has warned Sheffield Wednesday will not fear their trip to the Amex.

But his club have endured a challenging close season against the backdrop of an ongoing takeover saga.

Owner Milan Mandaric yesterday attempted to re-assure fans that his sale of the club to Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov was still on track.

But the Owls are behind schedule in their summer transfer business – which could help the Seagulls today.

Wednesday were brushed aside 3-0 at the Amex two years ago but were only denied a win last season by Keith Andrews’ late goal in the game which saw Leo Ulloa suffer a fractured metatarsal.

Action from Wednesday's visit last season

Gray said: “It's not a game we fear. They will be disappointed they missed out on promotion last year.

“We went there last year and got a good result and maybe should have won the game. I've got every confidence we can go there and get a good result.

"It will be a great atmosphere. We will be taking 2,500 fans to Brighton which is an unbelievable amount so hopefully the players will put on a good show for them.”

Wednesday sold star winger Michail Antonio to Nottingham Forest this week.

They were hoping to bring in striker Stevie May from St Johnstone but that deal had not gone through in time for today’s game.

Gray is expected to select 6ft 6in Atdhe Nuhiu as a lone frontman in a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 set-up.

Keiren Westwood, who was interesting Albion this summer, could make his debut in goal ahead of Chris Kirkland.
