Saga surrounding Albion transfer target takes another twist

Albion target Adam Clayton's proposed move to Championships rivals Middlesbrough has taken another twist.

A Boro source has confirmed Clayton failed to turn up for a planned medical with the North-East club last week amid interest from the Seagulls.

It has left Boro midfielder Jacob Butterfield's £750,000 switch in the opposite direction in limbo.

Boro's £1.5 million deal for Clayton remained on the table last night, although they are reportedly reviewing their position.

The transfer has been confused further by Huddersfield sacking boss Mark Robins after Saturday's opening 4-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.

Well apparently he was virtually a Brighton player until Boro upped there offer.

But at the end of the day it doesn't matter a jot what Boro and the managerless, disorganized Huddersfield decide if the player wants to come to Brighton. After all he had already agreed to come to us

Maybe TB has been cute on this one. Instead of upping his offer to Huddersfield he has focused his efforts on the player and what he has offered him

Who will be sold next,Lua Lua.Perhaps we should go up the road to see a determined winning team,or down the road to Bournmouth, they are even better. What i cant see is how Elphick and Cook seem to be one of the best central defenders when we couldnt see their potential and gave them away.Or is it they have a Manager who knows players, motivates them and always has a good game plan.We in comparison at this moment are a shambles of a team.If we had got Howe in and not bothered with Barber and Burke we would be quids in.Howe knows how to get good players on the cheap.

To Mr Burke, incase you're too busy on the phone, just to let you know that Spurs are looking to trim their squad, so the likes of Dembele, Kane, Assou-Ekoto could be available - any one of them could do a job for us. Maybe give them a ring?

He was probably more productive than that suggested team would have been. You'd never have got more than half of them on the field at any one time so they'd never have won the league.

According to the middlesboro local rag, Boro are getting fed up with him not turning up for a medical and the fact that Brighton are trying to "hijack" the deal. Boro are reported to be reconsidering their position

Quite frankly, if I were Boro and found out he'd visited the Amex on saturday, I'd walk away in as dignified a way as possible. Either he prefers Brighton and won't sign for Boro, or he's holding out for more money.
