Bruno is ready to do a midfield job for Albion today - if required.

The former Valencia right-back operated further forward against Cheltenham on Tuesday.

And he is happy to give it another go at Birmingham.

Bruno has played in midfield in Spain.

He admitted: "I want to play and I want to help the team and the manager if he needs another player in another position.

“The most important thing always is the team. I’m happy to play anywhere.

“Of course, I haven’t played there (midfield) for a long time and you need some time to adapt but I felt good.

“It was against a team from League Two and that’s much easier but it was good for me. I enjoyed it.

“We have a lot of young players. They have a year’s more experience in the Championship and they have to take the next step forward.

"They are important to the team. I think it’s a good chance for them and the experience players will have to help them.”

Why not, attacking full back anyway and what a goal against Bolton last season!

Think he would be better there than right back. His defending can be...erratic and sadly he is our ( not having seen Liverpool loanee) only player left on books with any "eye for a pass' .
Think my mate will be happy..in fact I thought he had been made assistant manager the other night as he was advocating this all last season.
One thing i like already about Sami is he is prepared to change things around and go outside the box so to say. Something neither Gus or Oscar seemed able to do which just every now and then might have been the difference. I like what i seen and heard so far from Sami , just hope he gets the tools HE wants and the players play for him.
Reflecting on Bridcutt and Buckley leaving neithers heart was in it once Gus left.
Thanks to them both and feel they will do well for Sunderland.
No expectations for today. Just hope we don't pick up any injuries or suspensions in our current state.

Please no! Not when kaz and cms can play on the wings and when we have enough mf to be in the middle where they should be. His defending his erratic but he foes a job. Lets go the whole hog and put Dunk up front

I take his point that we have a lot of young players and they have to take the next step forward.
This might just be a season of consolidation and if that means mid-table then look to a brighter future without all the negatives .

If Bruno wants relish he should ask Kemi. He seems to like a lot of that on his burgers. ;-)

Yes it does seem incredible that someone earning so much can, despite pre season, still be so obviously overweight and unfit. Anyone who remains so should have a reduction in salary in my book.
