David Stockdale will have plenty of family members behind his goal at Elland Road tonight.

But they will not all be rooting for an Albion win.

The majority in the Stockdale clan will be hoping the Seagulls slip to a third defeat in a row in the Championship.

That would also have been the case for Albion's new No. 1 when he supported his home city club.

His only concern now though is returning from Yorkshire with a first clean sheet in the league to ensure Albion get at least a point on the board.

It will be an emotional occasion for Stockdale this evening after growing up as a Leeds fan.

He told The Argus: "I had a trial once but nothing came of it and I have never actually gone back there and played. I've always been called back off loan or in a different league to them.

"I can't wait. There are going to be a lot of family members in the Leeds end. A few have decided to go in the Brighton end.

"I'm really looking forward to it, it's a great place. I spent my younger days watching Leeds there, when they were in the Champions League under David O'Leary, so it will be an honour to go back and play there.

"I managed to play with Oliver Dacourt and Lee Bowyer in my time at Ipswich and Fulham. They were heroes to me. That was my time, the Nigel Martyn era. I've got fond memories of watching them.

"All my family and friends are close to Leeds, I'm a close Leeds watcher. It will always be like that but when it comes to the game hopefully we'll get the three points."
