Sami Hyypia has praised Albion for sticking to their gameplan – despite falling behind.

The Seagulls staged a rare fightback to come from a goal down and beat Bolton today.

Strikes from Craig Mackail-Smith and Joao Teixeira secured a 2-1 success after Matt Mills had opened the scoring for Bolton on 25 minutes.

Mackail-Smith hit the bar in the 12 minutes for which Albion trailed.

Hyypia said: “It was just 1-0. We had plenty of time to come back.

“We don’t need to panic. We have a gameplan and our gameplan is to score goals.

“If the opponents score and your gameplan is to score goals and you score at least one, then you get one point.

“The gameplan wasn’t any different when they scored.”

Hyypia admitted Albion to battle for their points as they followed up a 2-0 midweek success at Leeds.

He added: “I felt that maybe the performance wasn’t the same as the previous game at Leeds.

“But we did the thing we have done in every game – battle.

“Then, on the ball, we know we have the quality to hurt teams.”
