Crawley boss John Gregory felt his side would have won at MK Dons today had they not failed to convert a penalty.

Trailing 1-0, the Reds earned a 68th-minute penalty which resulted in a red card for their former centre-back Kyle McFadzean.

But Izale McLeod’s spot-kick was saved by David Martin was saved and MK Dons completed a 2-0 victory when Benik Afobe scored in stoppage time.

Gregory said: “They started very well against us which we would have expected after the night they had on Tuesday.

“But after 15 minutes we settled down, played our way back into the game and had chances to get back in it in the first half, then even better chances in the second half.

“When Fadz got sent off, the referee made a good shout. Unfortunately for the big man he had to go. Nobody likes seeing players sent off, particularly Kyle but the referee had no option.

“We messed up the penalty which would have got us back at 1-1 and there would only have been one winner.”
