Crawley hand debuts to Jamie Ashdown and Mitch Rose in their JP Trophy first round clash with Cambridge United.

There is also a full debut for Matt Harrold and Emmet O’Connor as boss John Gregory makes six changes to the side which went down 2-0 at MK Dons on Saturday.

Ashdown gets his chance to impress in goal after signing a short-term contract last week while on-loan Rose appears for the first time having been an unused substitute for the opening seven games.

Harrold makes his first start up front having played the final 12 minutes at MK Dons after recovering from a knee injury picked up in pre-season.

Canadian O’Connor makes his first start in English football in midfield with Conor Henderson ruled out through injury.

The other changes see Sonny Bradley come into the centre of defence in place of Joe Walsh who is on international duty with Wales Under-21s. The same reason rules out Gwion Edwards meaning Lewis Young gets another chance on the wing.

Cambridge also ring the changes with Richard Tait, Luke Chadwick, Jayden Stockley and Harry Lennon all coming into a side which beat Carlisle 5-0 on Saturday.
