Oscar Garcia is the new head coach at Watford

First published in Sport by

Oscar Garcia has started his second stint in English football And he appears to have a familiar face alongside him.

The former Albion boss, below, was confirmed as Watford’s new head coach yesterday on a contract believed to run until the end of next season.

Meanwhile, Ruben Martinez, who was Oscar’s goalkeeping coach both at the Amex and Maccabi Tel Aviv, changed his Twitter profile to “we have returned to England Watford FC.”

Oscar takes over with Watford second in the Championship.

He has yet to talk to reporters at Vicarage Road but was also active on social media.

He tweeted: “Today a new challenge begins. I come back to England to help Watford achieve his goals. Thanks for the welcome!”

Oscar kicks off with the schedule he faced with Albion over Christmas last year – away to both Charlton and Blackpool in quick succession. Watford host Albion on October 4.

Tomorrow's headline? "Oscar meets his new squad"... or it might be "Oscar buys a pint of milk at Tescos", or "Oscar reveals what's in his packed lunch".

Lots of us liked Oscar (myself included) but can we let him go now Argus, at least until we play Watford? Any of us who want to find out more can do so for themselves!

It is relevant though isn't it. OG is a recent former manager and he's got a new job as one of our direct rivals. Is this just Argus bashing for the sake of it? You could always read something else.

What sort of milk? Full fat or semi skimmed? What about his packed lunch? Is he more of a dairylea or minibabybel man? Sausage roll or sandwich? So many intriguing questions.....

Agree with posers who say--Why should we be that interested. Ok Watford in our division--so are many other ex-Albion players. WE do not need to have a daily update on what or how they are doing.

I agree with most others. Wish him well but what's it doing on here? And the "familiar face" was reflected yesterday anyway. Now going to read the TB story.

Oscar's 2as a good manager for us, but weve moved on and personally think we have a better manager in Sammy. More direct but attractive football played from the back along the ground, none of this sideways passing, which became a bit of a bore.

Bring on the next one who can keep us in mid table mediocrity....I just hop we finish behind Bournemouth and win automatic promotion ....but think 8th is realistic...
