Crawley boss John Gregory is confident of bringing in two experienced players in the next seven days.

Reds were not able to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closed on Monday but Gregory wants to bring in reinforcements by the time Fleetwood visit next Saturday. Gregory is scouring the long list of players who are free agents but admits finding someone with the right credentials is proving difficult.

He said: “We do need an injection of a couple more players and I’m sure come the end of next week there will be one or two more through the door.

“But I want to bring two players in who can go straight into the team and not sit on the bench for a few weeks and that is not so easy.

“We have got enough youngsters now. I need boys with League One experience have got a lot of matches under the belts and will hold the team together.

“The problem is they are hard to find and those that are out there have not been training or playing for a while so it might take four weeks to get them fit which is no use to us.”
