Sami Hyypia admits Albion cannot keep giving themselves deficits to wipe out.

The Seagulls lost 3-2 at Brentford today having gone 2-0 down in the first half and 3-1 adrift early in the second period.

Albion have only scored first in one Championship game this term, the 2-0 win at Leeds.

Hyypia conceded many spectators would have enjoyed the five-goal contest at Griffin Park today.

But the Albion boss said: “It wasn’t entertaining for me because we didn’t get anything from the game.

“When we always need to chase the game it is not a great situation to be in.

“I think in these six games we have had in the league, the opposition has scored first in five of them. That makes it more difficult.

“Today I think in the first half we were a little bit open with the defending.

“We need to learn how to maybe be more patient and defend a little bit more compact and then, when we get the ball, we can play football.

“That’s one thing we need to talk about and work a little bit on the training pitch.

“Another things is in the forward movement sometimes we lose the ball a little bit too easily.

“Then the opposition has situations for counter attack.”
