Team Raleigh's Yanto Barker says the support surrounding the Tour of Britain had been "fantastic" after riding back into his former home town.
Barker was part of Brighton-based Team DFL a decade ago and lived a stone's throw from Brighton Pier during his two years in the seaside resort.
Big crowds lined the roads leading down to Madeira Drive and all along the route through Sussex for the seventh stage.
Barker said: "It's amazing. It is a weekend so the crowds are always bigger but the support has been fantastic all week.
"Every year it has grown and this has been no exception.
"And this is a great place to finish. I have seen all the car shows that come down here and this is a great spectacle.
"You get great viewpoints from all sorts of places."
