Albion striker Craig Mackail-Smith felt Albion were worth a point last night.

But he admitted they needed to take their chances at Ipswich.

Mackail-Smith was one of five players brought back into the starting line-up as boss Sami Hyypia rang the changes.

The Seagulls were arguably the brighter side at times but eventually lost 2-0.

He said: “I think we did well. For 70 or 75 minutes we were compact, we limited them in chances and, on the counter attack, we seemed bright.

“We could have had a couple of goals on another night.

“Towards the end maybe fatigue crept in. We switched off and allowed them to score two goals.”

Mackail-Smith praised home keeper Dean Gerken for the saves which denied Albion a precious lead.

He added: “I think maybe a draw was a fair result. We both had chances.”
