Sami Hyypia will rotate his Albion squad again for Blackpool's visit tomorrow.

Lewis Dunk will not be regarded as a potential victim of the changes this time as the Seagulls seek their first clean sheet at the Amex in the Championship.

One of the biggest pluses of Tuesday's unfortunate 2-0 defeat at Ipswich was Dunk's instant return to form, rewarding a show of faith from Hyypia following a torrid 45 minutes for the young centre-half at Brentford last Saturday.

Dunk should have been sent-off early on at Griffin Park for bringing down Andre Gray when the last line of defence.

It was the prelude to a uncomfortable half for Dunk and his team-mates. He was left exposed by Albion's recklessly open approach.

Hyypia substituted him at half-time, fearing the referee would make up for his oversight by showing him a red card given the opportunity.

As Dunk sat glum-faced next to Adam Chicksen watching the second half he must have feared the worst about his prospects of playing at Ipswich.

Especially as Hyypia expressed satisfaction with the contribution of Dunk's experienced replacement, Aaron Hughes.

It would not have been a surprise if Hughes had been re-instated for the trip to Portman Road.

Instead Hyypia retained Dunk, a decision vindicated by his performance, despite Albion belatedly conceding two or more goals in a game for the fourth time in a row.

Dunk and his accomplice, Gordon Greer, kept the dangerous partnership of David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy quiet until Murphy's late, lead-doubling strike, hit so early that it caught out David Stockdale.

The heroics of Stockdale's opposite number, Dean Gerken, had earlier prevented Dunk moving further in front as Albion's top scorer so far this season.

A firm header from a corner, blocked by the keeper, would have added to his goal against Cheltenham in the Capital One Cup and pointsaving double in the last home game against Charlton.

Dunk's form, Brentford apart, has been impressive, the goal threat he is providing from set pieces with Greer a welcome bonus.

He has not enjoyed an extended run in the side since Albion's first season at the Amex in 2011-12, when he made 31 appearances in the Championship under Gus Poyet.

That could change under Hyypia, who is demonstrating both by deeds and words his admiration for the 22-year-old.

Leaving Dunk out at Ipswich was not on the agenda for Hyypia.

The Finn said: "I didn't think that way. He is a good player and he needs to remember when he is playing well what he does on the pitch.

"That he is concentrated in every moment of the game and he keeps it simple.

"I like him a lot. I think, especially with young players, if I had left him out he would maybe have thought differently about himself. I'm very pleased that he did allright.

Did you know? The last time Lewis Dunk faced Blackpool was in a 2-2 draw at the Amex in August 2011.

Kevin Phillips scored twice for the visitors to cancel out goals by Craig Mackail-Smith and Ashley Barnes.
