Crawley boss John Gregory is on the lookout for another forgotten man.

Gregory snapped up Marvin Elliott this week after discovering he was without a club and training on his own following his release by Bristol City at the end of last season.

The Reds boss is satisfied with the squad he has put together having also signed Mat Sadler, Keith Keane and Josh Wright on loan but knows circumstances can change quickly.

Gregory is still waiting to discover how long left-back Ryan Dickson will be sidelined for and is monitoring the list of free agents to see who is available.

Gregory said: “I’m always open. Ryan could be out for two weeks or six weeks so we need to keep a close eye on that one.

“There are definitely a few good players out there without a club but as always it’s down to finances and timing.

“You get players who are free agents but are probably quite proud and want somebody to knock on their door rather than the other way around.

“Marvin was a bit like that and there are others who have perhaps been forgotten about a little bit so I’ll never say never.”

Gregory is confident Gwion Edwards and Lanre Oyebanjo will be fit to play at Preston today having not featured in the last two games due to injury.

“They were very close to playing on Tuesday so the extra few days should mean they’re okay,” added Gregory. “Gwion was on the bench but I didn’t really want to use him so I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
