Horsham triumphed 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at Whyteleafe in Ryman One south tonight.
The struggling Hornets took a 23rd-minute lead when Jamie Cade scored from a Troy Williams cross.
Player-boss Gary Charman doubled the lead three minutes before the break but Greg Andrews pulled a goal back for Leafe three minutes after the interval following a corner.
Tony Nwachukwu restored Horsham’s two-goal cushion after a Williams shot was parried but Leafe again scored from a corner through Tom Pratt. An own goal increased the Hornets’ lead but Shawn Lyle made it a nervous last few minutes after pulling back a third goal.
East Grinstead’s midweek troubles ended as they grabbed a 2-0 victory against Folkestone Invicta.
Sam Schaaf’s powerful 15-yard strike put the Wasps ahead after 53 minutes and their cause was helped further when Josh Vincent was dismissed for a foul on George Hiller-Jones.
Grinstead’s Kieron Pamment wrapped up the home win with an 84th-minute goal as the Wasps kept a welcome clean sheet.
Three Bridges boss Paul Faili was furious after last Saturday’s defeat against Walton and Hersham and his humour could not have improved as they fell 3-0 behind at South Park by half-time.
