Ollie Rowe saved a derby point for Lewes – and left Peacehaven feeling “bitterly disappointed”.

Rowe headed home Jack Dixon’s 90th-minute corner as Rooks drew 2-2 at home to their neighbours in Ryman premier. Magpies led twice through Josh Jones (15) and Tom Lawley (68) with Lewes’s first leveller coming via a Tommy Fraser own goal (38).

Peacehaven boss Shaun Saunders admitted: “We should have defended the corner better. I’m bitterly disappointed not to have won the game but I couldn’t fault the players’ attitude.”

Lewes’s Danny Bloor said: “We were awful in the FA Cup on Saturday but we were really pleased with our resilience this time.”

Burgess Hill moved eight points clear at the top of Ryman south by beating Merstham 2-0. Rob O’Toole and Scott Kirkwood scored first-half goals with Greg Luer and Neil Watts involved.

Hillians manager Ian Chapman was happy. He said: "Merstham are a good side. They probably had a bit more possession than us but we looked more like scoring. We deserved the win."

Trevor McCreadie scored and was later sent-off as Worthing crashed 4-1 at home to South Park.
