Whitehawk will have a new goalkeeper in place before Tuesday’s trip to Basingstoke.

Former Albion keeper John Sullivan plays his last game for the Hawks when they host Maidenhead in Vanarama Conference south today.

Sullivan is moving to America and has some options in place regarding trials with MLS teams.

It was something Whitehawk were aware of when they signed Sullivan in the summer, although the search for a replacement intensified when fellow goalkeeper Lance Cronin recently decided to stop playing to concentrate on his business.

Youngster Charlie Crowley was brought in as back-up to Sullivan, who has been an ever-present since the third game of the season, but manager Steven King wants a more experienced No.1.

He said: “We have agreed personal terms with another goalkeeper and he will be in place for Tuesday’s game.

“We knew all along this would be happening with John and we wish him the best.”

King is desperately trying to make other additions to his injury-hit squad before the match against a Maidenhead team that recently signed former Premier League striker DJ Campbell.

The Hawks are short of defensive options with Paul Lorraine, Osei Sankofa and Pa Kujabi all sidelined by injury while Tom Cadmore is in the middle of a five-match suspension for back-to-back red cards.

Former QPR youngster Emmanuel Monthe made his debut in last Saturday’s FA Cup win against Merstham while Frenchman Franz Tchonang is the only other fit recognised centre-back in the squad.

Former Crawley midfielder Sergio Torres is another injury absentee tomorrow but striker Sahr Kabba, who was ineligible under the terms of his loan, returns.

Jake Robinson will be pushing for a start after netting twice last weekend.
