Inigo Calderon wants promotion talk banished following consecutive top six finishes and Albion to realise they are in a relegation fight.
The Seagulls’ long-serving defender says they need a win quickly.
And he believes they can get it at Huddersfield tonight.
Calderon continues to deputise at right-back for groin injury victim Bruno in Yorkshire this evening.
He returned from suspension in Saturday’s setback against Middlesbrough at the Amex, which has left Albion with only four teams below them and only a point above the relegation zone.
Calderon said: "When I came here (January 2010) we were at the bottom, trying to stay from going out of League Two. We are not Man U or Man City, we have to do really well to have a chance.
"I am not saying now we can’t finish higher but we have to forget about that quickly because now we are going down (the table). We have to get three points as soon as possible.
"Forget about the top six or what ever, stop talking about that, we have to win the next game first of all and I think we’ll do it."
Albion will assess Joao Teixeira’s recovery from an early knock to the head against Middlesbrough before deciding whether to use him tonight.
