Albion manager Sami Hyypia has renewed calls for the strikers to start scoring in the quest for a first Championship win in ten games.

Summer signings Chris O’Grady, Adrian Colunga and Sam Baldock have yet to hit the target in the league as the Seagulls prepare for Rotherham's visit on Saturday.

Ex-Rotherham forward O'Grady has drawn a blank in nine appearances, Spaniard Adrian Colunga in ten and Sam Baldock in six.

Centre-half Lewis Dunk is showing the way as leading marksman with five goals, the latest in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Huddersfield.

Dunk's partner, skipper Gordon Greer, is second top scorer in the league alongside Joao Teixeira with two.

Hyypia told The Argus: “The forward players need to start scoring goals. Dunky scored again. I am very happy for him and for the team that he scored but it's unusual that only the centre-backs are scoring.

“We need to work on things. They need to concentrate more in the final third, to be more dangerous in the final third.

“When the crosses are coming in we need to be there, on the move, and have the desire to put the ball in the back of the net, otherwise you are never going to score.

“We got balls in the box in the first half (at Huddersfield) but maybe our movement wasn't that great.”

Craig Mackail-Smith, the only recognised striker to have scored a goal in the league for Albion, could be missing for the fourth match in succession against Rotherham due to a hamstring injury exacerbated by a period of illness.
