Danny Warwick has celebrated his birthday in style - by signing for Eastbourne Eagles.
The experienced National League racer, who turns 31 today, will ride for Eagles in what looks a highly competitive third tier next year.
He has also ridden in the Premier League and will offer an older head in what is likely to be a young team.
Warwick progressed through the junior ranks at the new defunct Reading track.
He has also ridden for Newport, Poole, Weymouth, Berwick, Somerset, Sittingbourne, Swindon and Bournemouth.
Eagles' Martin Dugard said: "We are determined to put together a team that will be competitive and excite our supporters.
"Danny fits the bill perfectly and we are so happy that he is coming to Arlington.
"He has experience and knows what this league is all about. This is a great start to our team-building process and shows people that we mean business."
Warwick has most recently been involved in grasstrack.
But he said: "I never retired from speedway. It was just having the right opportunity.
"I am working full time as a mechanic and regular weekday racing doesn't really suit me."
Warwick has already been to Arlington to practise and is looking forward to getting in more laps before the season starts.
