Chris Eubank Junior says he will end the career of big fight rival Billy Joe Saunders.

Saunders, 25, has reiterated a pledge to retire if he loses his British, European and Commnwealth middleweight belts to the Brighton challenger at London’s Excel Arena on Saturday evening.

Eubank Junior, also 25, plans to make Saunders stick to his word in the eliminator for the WBO world crown won by his father. “He is going to lose his belts, he is going to lose his career,” Eubank Junior, pictured, said. “He’s going to get seriously hurt if he hasn’t trained hard.

“And even if he has trained hard he’s not going to have anything to trouble me. He knows his time has come.”

Eubank Senior had renowned two-fight rivalries with Nigel Benn, Michael Watson and Steve Collins but his son intends to dissuade former Olympian Saunders by beating him inside the 12-round distance.

He said: “I don'’t see him ever wanting to come within miles of me after this fight. It’s going to be a traumatising experience for him. Will it become a rivalry, will there be a rematch? Who knows? I don’t care about any of that. All I care about is getting those belts.”
