Sami Hyypia insists he has a plan B or C to get Albion out of relegation trouble.

But the players do not always make the right decisions on the pitch.

Hyypia rejects criticism he is aware of that Albion have only one way of playing.

The Finn would even exploit on-loan Greg Halford's long throw if he felt the Seagulls had the right players to profit from it.

Hyypia joked: "We just need that he throws the ball and then flicks it on! That's one weapon that you could use but then we would need to find somebody who would profit from that long throw.

"That can be a weapon sometimes. I don't say that you shouldn't play direct at all. I'm not the type of guy who thinks you always want to play short. You have to vary things in the game, and you need to have the capacity to do that as well.

"Sometimes you need to play quickly, sometimes keep possession but have a purpose with it.

"I would rather have my player play a 20 to 30 metres pass forward to a free man than always sideways or backwards.

"I've heard that we have only one way to play. I was wondering what these people want. Do they want us to hoof the ball up front and play only for the second ball? It would be easy to do that and sometimes you have to do it, sometimes it's good to do it.

"It's part of the game to vary things. We don't have one plan. I would like the players to make the right decisions on the field.

"If there is a space and opportunity to play the long ball behind the back four and somebody is running then play it. Sometimes I see those situations and think the ball should not have been played square."
