Chris Cannon has won a place on the Asian Tour after holding his nerve to come through Qualifying School in Thailand.
The East Sussex National professional shot a level par 71 in the final round at Springfield Royal on Saturday to finish tied for 27th in the final on two under par overall.
Cannon’s hopes of securing a spot in the top 40 hung in the balance after he reached the turn on two over par despite birdieing the first.
However, the 27-year-old fought back impressively to pick up shots at the 12th and 13th before parring the final five holes to qualify.
It completes a successful month for Cannon who came 24th at the Dubai Open before cruising through the first stage of Q School.
He is now eligible to make his Asian Tour debut at the $3million Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur next month.
