Ryan Dickson questioned a controversial decision as Crawley slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

Izale McLeod looked to have given Reds the lead in the first half only for his effort to be ruled out for an infringement in the area.

Goalkeeper Tommy Lee dropped the ball at the feet of McLeod who stabbed it home but referee Stuart Attwell had spotted a foul on another player.

Chesterfield went on to record a comfortable 3-0 victory with goals from Eoin Doyle (2) and Jay O'Shea but Dickson said it may have been different if McLeod's effort had not been chalked off.

Dickson said: "From where I was stood he (Attwell) said it was a foul before the ball was actually delivered.

"It wasn't Izale but even if there was it was not interfering with play. I don't know but it was a weird one.

"It's a change-changer. We haven't been in a winning piosition for a while but when luck against you it is against you.

"It's a bit disappointing but you can't change it."

Boss Dean Saunders was pleased with some of Crawley's attacking play in the first half but slammed the manner in which they conceded their three goals.

Saunders said: "They were three bad goals to give away. The first was just a long ball which is the easiest thing to defend against and we work on in training.

"We had done all right for the first 45 minutes but then we conceded another two poor goals within seven minutes of the second half which killed us."
