David Stockdale has vowed to bring the good times back for Albion fans.

The summer signing from Fulham has endured a difficult first season with the Seagulls.

An expected third successive tilt at reaching the play-offs has turned into a relegation scrap.

But goalkeeper Stockdale insists the players are working hard to turn the campaign around.

And he believes under new boss Chris Hughton the Seagulls will get back on track and soon start delivering the level of performances supporters have come to expect.

Stockdale experienced relegation from the Premier League with Fulham last season so he knows how to handle the situation Albion are currently in.

He said: “I have known a different kind of pressure when you are bottom.

“But if you know this side’s spirit and how we play, and maybe a few bits of luck go our way, I fully believe that we will be solidly up the table.

“I’m not saying it is all about luck but we just need a few bits to go our way.

“Obviously it is not the season we wanted but in all the years I have known Brighton they have been at the top. There is always going to be a season where it might not happen and unfortunately it is the season I came.

“We will try to bring those times back.”
