Things are looking up for Craig Mackail-Smith and Albion in more ways than one.

The striker is back in the team, aiming to take another step towards mid-table safety on his 100th Championship appearance for the club at Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.

Mackail-Smith returned to the starting line-up in Tuesday's impressive 2-0 home win over Leeds which lifted the Seagulls to 18th.

That is their highest position since drawing with Cardiff at the Amex at the end of September and it could get better with a third win on the trot against the Trotters if other results also go their way.

They could climb to 15th, not far off the season-high of 13th when Bolton were beaten 2-1 at the Amex in August by goals from Mackail-Smith and Joao Teixeira.

Mackail-Smith told The Argus: "We've given ourselves a good bit of momentum. We performed well against Birmingham and scored four, we scored two against Leeds and could have had a lot more, and the clean sheet is a big confidence boost for everyone going into Saturday.

"We'll go there looking to get a win. That win will push us further away from the relegation zone and we can start looking towards the top half of the table and that would set us up nicely for Tuesday (home to Derby)."
