Chris Eubank Junior has revealed the motivation behind his determination to be a world champion.
The 25-year-old challenges Russian Dmitry Chudinov for his Interim WBA World Middleweight title tonight at the O2 Arena in London.
Victory could set the Brighton fighter on the path to bigger and more lucrative clashes in a sport his two-weight world champion father Chris Eubank Senior dominated for a period in the early 1990s.
But Eubank Jr says the reason is he wants to win in the ring is simple. He told The Argus: “My drive is I am a warrior.
“This is what I have done for so many years now and even before I started boxing, I had that warrior in me.
“I had that fire and that drive to want to be the best.
“And once I found boxing I knew this was the ultimate sport.
“Obviously the money and the fame are great but that’s not why I am working so hard, it’s because I want to be the best.”
