Crawley Town centre-back Joe Walsh is on his way to MK Dons.

He will join the League One high-flyers for an initial loan stint with a view to a more permanent deal.

Reds boss Dean Saunders revealed the move after his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United today.

Saunders said: "I think it has been agreed, yes. He's had a medical, so we're disappointed to lose him but he's a good lad, he has a big career in front of him, we wish him well, and he's Welsh as well so I'll be looking forward to see how he develops!

"He's not played for three games, we've won two and drawn one without him and we have to move on. I always like to see young lads go on and do well.

"I'll watch his career and hope he learned a little bit off me in the short period I was with him here. He's a nice lad, a credit to his parents who brought him up the right way. He's very polite, very respectful, and he's one of those players you want to see do well."

Walsh has been suspended during his side’s recent revival but had previously been a key member of the Crawley squad.

Richard Wood got the goal which secured a point against Blades today to make it seven points from the last nine available.

Saunders added: "Part of the reason why I brought Richard Wood in is because I thought something might happen with Joe."
