Ben Brown has targeted a return to the trophy trail after prolonging his current deal with Sussex.

Brown and Harry Finch have signed one-year contract extensions taking them through until at least the end of the 2016 season.

Crawley-born Brown, 26, made his first-class debut back in 2007 and has gone on to score nearly 3,000 runs in 67 matches.

Now the wicketkeeper-batsman would love to help them to the sort of success which saw them win ten trophies in as many years, culminating in a one-day double in 2009.

He said: “I'm really pleased to have signed again for the club I have supported as a kid and hopefully over the next two years I can help the squad add to the rich history of the club and get back to winning trophies.

“That's the priority now as we have been close in four-day cricket but now we need to kick on as a squad and challenge on all fronts.

“I'm looking forward to being a part of that big challenge over the next two years and hopefully beyond.”

All-rounder Finch, 20, comes from Hastings and made his big breakthrough last season having signed professional at the end of 2013.

He made his T20 debut against Sri Lanka and smashed 92 from 58 balls in the Royal London One-Day Cup game against Glamorgan at Hove.

Finch now has at least two years in which to build on that promising debut season.

Coach Mark Davis said: “Both have exciting futures and the fact that they are home-grown players is a testament to
