Albion have seen off competition from Premier League and Championship clubs to land an Irish whizz-kid.

Jayson Molumby, 15, has signed a three-year deal with the Seagulls after a trial at their Lancing academy.

The versatile Republic of Ireland under-16s international from Waterford also had a trial with West Brom and attracted interest as well from Aston Villa, Birmingham and Blackburn.

Molumby has signed a one-year scholarship deal and two-year professional contract with Albion.

He is the latest in a series of Irish prospects captured by the Seagulls since John Morling was appointed academy manager in 2012.

Morling joined Albion after seven years with the Football Association of Ireland.
