Tom Burton grabbed a vital equaliser to give Peacehaven hope in their fight for Ryman premier survival.

The Magpies drew 1-1 away to fellow strugglers AFC Hornchurch, who were relegated following the stalemate.

Peacehaven remain inside the relegation zone with just one match to play but are just two points behind four clubs on 50 points, including Lewes.

Burton struck 17 minutes from time to earn Tony Coade’s side a point.

Lewes are only one place above the drop zone after a 1-0 defeat at home to Leatherhead.

The Rooks finish away to bottom side Bury Town next Saturday while Peacehaven host mid-table Hampton and Richmond.

Elsewhere in Ryman premier, Bognor lost 4-1 at Wingate and Finchley despite leading at half-time thanks to Ollie Pearce.

Champions Burgess Hill were presented with the Ryman south trophy before their 5-0 win at home to Whitstable.
