Chris Hughton has promised the Championship promotion chasers his Albion side will play a fair part in the race for the Premier League.
Watford, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Hughton’s old club Norwich are in a four-way fight for two automatic spots.
The Seagulls are safe from relegation after Millwall’s defeat at Blackburn on Tuesday but Hughton will not be blooding players against leaders Watford at the Amex today or at Boro in the final game next Saturday.
He said: “I’m very conscious of the responsibility we have in our last two games.
“Lots of people have felt maybe to use these last two games to play other players or young players and so on but we have a responsibility to all the teams around there to do the best we can in both games.”
Solly March, sidelined since February by a fractured fibula, has resumed training with the first team squad this week but will not be risked.
