Boss Dean Saunders has called on Crawley fans for inspiration ahead of the club’s relegation decider against Coventry City on Sunday.

Reds realistically need to beat the Sky Blues at the Checkatrade.com Stadium to remain in League One next season after letting slip a 3-2 lead in the closing minutes at Peterborough United on Saturday.

A draw could be enough to stay in League One if other results go their way with the significance of the game magnified by the fact Coventry also require a point to be certain of survival.

The Sky Blues have already sold out their allocation of 1,600 tickets for the match and Saunders, pictured, has urged Crawley fans to turn out in force for what is the club’s biggest home game for years.

And the former Wales striker also wants supporters to send in motivational messages to stick on the dressing room wall ahead of the win-or-bust encounter.

Saunders said: “We’re all disappointed that we couldn’t get the result we wanted at Peterborough but we have one more chance this Sunday and the fans can play their part.

“The lads know how important the game is but I would be delighted if as many of our fans took the time to send the players a message to show how much you are behind them and the club. It could make all the difference.”
