Marc Owen went unbeaten and Georgie Wood earned a heat 15 call as Eastbourne brushed past Stoke Potters.

But a rare dropped point for Bradley Wilson-Dean was arguably the talking point of a 65-27 landslide at Arlington.

Wilson-Dean was held off by Potters No.1 Jon Armstrong in heat 13 but passed the Stoke veteran to take revenge in the nominated race.

Eagles opened with three 5-1s and had eight in total.

Wood produced some trademark passing to remain unbeaten in his programmed rides before coming last in heat 15.

And Matt Bates settled in smoothly on his debut.

Eagles go to Rye House tomorrow with Dan Greenwood guesting for unavailable David Mason.

Eagles: Wilson-Dean 15+2 (7), Owen 13+2 (5), Wood 11+1 (5), Andrews 11+1 (5), Bates 9+2 (5), Dugard 6+1 (4).

Stoke: Armstrong 9 (5), Payne 7+1^ (5), Tedham 3+1 (4), Terry-Daley 3 (4), Widman 2 (4), Phillips 2 (4), MacDonald 1 (4).
