Albion will mount their Championship recovery programme under Chris Hughton behind-closed-doors in the French Alps.

Their pre-season plans kick-off with a private training camp at high altitude.

They head for the mountains on July 5, followed by an opening friendly in Geneva six days later against unconfirmed opponents.

No training sessions will be open to fans at the undisclosed location, unlike in recent years when Albion have warmed up for the season in Portugal or Spain.

The club have advised supporters keen to travel to the friendly to base themselves in Geneva.

Albion open their friendly programme back at home in customary fashion with matches at Lewes on July 18 and at relegated Crawley on July 22.

They make the long trip four days later to Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen, who visited Withdean for a friendly in 2010.

A much shorter journey follows on July 29, to former landlords Gillingham.

The final friendly, at the Amex on August 2, will be against "top-flight European opponents" yet to be confirmed.

One more fixture could be added to the programme, although it is likely to be behind-closed-doors.

The Championship fixtures are published on June 17 and Albion's first game is on August 8.
