Eastbourne Eagles have tweaked their riding order in a bid to get back to full power.

Eagles go to Rye House in the National Trophy tonight (7pm) aiming for the away win which would move them a big step closer to the final.

They then visit Kent on Monday in the first leg of the National Cup semi-final.

Chairman Martin Dugard has admitted Eagles have fallen just a bit flat of late although he remains generally encouraged by their progress.

Richard Andrews is among those below his best and he reverts to No.2 at Raiders tonight, riding alongside Bradley Wilson-Dean.

Mattie Bates, who has done a solid job at No.2, moves down to No.4.

Eagles hope it is third time lucky at Hoddesdon. The Trophy fixture was abandoned due to excessive dust early this season and rained off two days ago.

Team manager Glenn Martin said: “We have a 100% record so far in the Trophy, including an away with at Kent. The aim is to win at Rye House and try and take a stranglehold on the competition.”

Raiders are missing injured No. 1 Rob Branford. Ben Morley guests for the hosts.

Wilson-Dean, who has been critical of his own form of late, rode for Exeter last night in a challenge fixture against Cradley Heathens at Somerset.

He is also part of the field for the prestigious FAST Golden Hammer, being staged by Cradley on Wednesday, August 12, Eagles reserve Georgie Wood competes in the British Grasstrack Championship at Gawsworth in Cheshire tomorrow. Wood is widely thought to be a dark horse to take the title off champion Harland Cook.
