Eastbourne are safely through to the Knockout Cup final.
But they have fingers crossed that top scorer Bradley Wilson-Dean did not suffer a significant injury in the 50-40 home win over Kent.
The New Zealander win all four of his races but sat out Heat 15 due to a knock to the hand suffered in a pile-up in heat one.
He was considering heading to hospital for a check-up and possible X-ray.
Eagles were 14 points up from the away leg and led this contest from the moment the new reserve pairing of Mattie Bates and Kelsey Dugard shared a 5-1 in heat two.
But Kent battled well and held Eastbourne to their smallest winning margin at home this season.
Dugard, on his return to the side, had impressive wins in heats eight and nine to extend the lead on the night from four points to ten.
Wilson-Dean passed Kent's top rider Ben Morley in his last ride and has now dropped just one point from his last 22 races.
Eagles: Wilson-Dean 12 (4), Dugard 10+2 (7), Bates 10 (6), Owen 9+2 (6), Hopwood 9 (5), Stuckey 0 (2), Wood R/R.
Kent: Morley 13 (5), Shanes 7+1 (5), Ayres 6+2 (4), Couzins 5+1 (4), Baseby 5+1 (4), Sheppard 3 (4), Basford 1+1 (4).
